A Spiritual Booster Shot
It’s the mark of a true Christian to desire consistent growth in their walk with Christ. Experience teaches us, though, that it’s easy to get off track and discouraged. Before long we realize that anxiety and hypocrisy mark our lives rather than the fruit of the Spirit.
In the (ahem) unlikely event that describes you, here’s something to help—God’s Word. We often just need a little direction to get back into Scripture so the Lord can refresh us in His Word. Psalm 19:7 says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul.” With that in mind, here’s a nine-week Bible reading plan that is sure to help you.
Week 1: Mark | ___________________ |
Week 2: Psalms 1-27 | ___________________ |
Week 3: Luke 1-12 | ___________________ |
Week 4: Luke 13-24 | ___________________ |
Week 5: Proverbs 1-15 | ___________________ |
Week 6: Proverbs 16-31 | ___________________ |
Week 7: Romans | ___________________ |
Week 8: John 1-11 | ___________________ |
Week 9: John 12-21 | ___________________ |
This schedule is attractive because it is attainable. You basically need to read two chapters per day to finish each week’s section. The weekly (rather than daily) readings eliminate the sense of pressure that comes if you miss a day. It gives room for the ebb and flow of life.
The blanks next to the section allow you to record your completion date and thus keep track of your progress. Sometimes a visual record of progress keeps up the motivation.
God’s Word is always fruitful in the lives of those who devote themselves to it (Isaiah 55:8-11). So seek His blessing as you pursue this plan.
Enjoy what lies ahead!
